Michelle Boehm

What school did you attend, what was your major, and when did you graduate?

I graduated from Mizzou in 2011 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

What is your current job title?

I am a P.E. (Professional Engineer) at Cillessen & Sons, Inc. in Kechi, KS. It’s a woman owned construction business (which is pretty awesome) that specializes in traffic control and airfield services

When did you get involved in SWE?

I’ve been a member of SWE for over 10 years, and have been actively involved with the Wichita Professional Section (and Expo!) for the last 7 years.

What are your responsibilities for the Expo?

I am the main contact between SWE and companies and groups that want to host a booth. I organize the layout of the Expo for the day of, and work with the Volunteer chair to ensure all booths have enough volunteers.

What are some hobbies of yours?

In my free time, I coach an all-girls’ robotics team through Girl Scouts called Robo Troop. I also really enjoy playing volleyball, baking, crafting, and collecting craft supplies (which are indeed two separate hobbies). I have two dogs - Darby and Archie - and a nerdy boyfriend with a Tesla Coil problem*

*According to the rest of the Expo committee, this is not a problem; the more Tesla Coils, the better.

What’s an interesting fact about you?

My younger sister was the 4th person in my family to graduate from Mizzou with an engineering degree (Dad: Electrical, Brother: Mechanical, Me: Civil, Sister: Civil). So for her graduation, my dad had a banner made that said "Mizzou Engineering Grand Slam" that he had all of us pose with.
